Tim's Movie Ratings

I've decided to start posting my very own movie ratings. Each new movie I see will be reviewed so you, my fans, can know what to watch and what to pass over.
Today: 21 Grams
Starring: Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Naomi Watts
Run Time: 125 boring minutes
Rating on All Movie dot com: 4 stars out of 5
My Rating: 1 1/2 stars, two thumbs down.

This movie was slightly less comatose than "Lost In Translation." It was hard to decipher the time frame of the movie, because they switched back and forth between past, present, and future. That happened the whole movie. By the way, this was the same production company as the aforementioned (from last night) snoozer, "Lost In Translation."
21 grams seems to be the amount of sleeping tablet necessary to match the slumber powers of the movie of the same name.
Anyway, if you like slow dramas, by all means ignore my review. Of course I realize everybody has different tastes.
Mine happen to be "Die Hard" and "Dumb and Dumber" type flicks, so maybe my review won't mean too much to people who agree with critics.

How can I better serve you?

Have a rating of your own?

I welcome your comments.

Cure For Insomnia?

Has anybody seen the movie "Lost In Translation"? It won a few awards and has received a lot of praise from critics. It's been given a lot of 4 stars. Well we watched it tonight. If you ever have trouble sleeping, watch this movie. You'll fall asleep in no time. From now on we rent movies that recieve 2 stars or fewer. Critical praise=movies Tim won't like. I'm a little worried about watching "21 Grams" tomorrow. That received 4 stars.
Did anybody else like this movie?

Tim "two thumbs up"

Pic Happy!

Good Saturday to you all!
Alanna and I woke up late today, around 11:30. We were up watching "Gothika" last night, starring Halle Berry and Robert "Rehab" Downey Jr. Good movie, I had nightmares! Seriously!
We went to Faegan's Pub for lunch and had a couple burgers and pops (excuse me, sodas, we're in the east). Then we went to Bruegger's Bagels and got a dozen and some cream cheese for the week. Mmmm...Jalepeno cream cheese.

I thought today I'd post some pics for you to see. How can Alanna study with all these critters around her?
Here's Jingles playing in my clothes.
This is our new kitchen the landlord put in. It's nice to have some counter space. The guys upstairs received a new kitchen too.

Finally, I thought I'd post a bunch of pics of my favorite things: my guitars!

This is my very first guitar. A christmas gift from my parents. It's a Yamaha FG400A acoustic guitar. Still one of my most played.

Next is my first electric guitar, a Fender Squier Stratocaster.

Next is the mighty 1996 Gibson Les Paul, bought from my grandparent's tenant a few years ago. Excellent condition. Retails from around $1200. I got it for much less.

This here is my Jackson PS4, which I bought in 1996. This along with the Les Paul is my Numero Uno weapon of choice. Lately it's the Jackson I've been playing the most.

Next up is the Fender 12 string guitar, although it's currently down to eleven strings.

Next we have my fake Gibson SG, that I bought off a college friend. I re-did the finish on this. Also, it was missing the whammy bar, but my grandpa Leo used his Polish Engineering to fashion one out of a toilet floater rod! Genius!! Check this out!

Here is a classical acoustic guitar my mom got in Mexico years ago.

Finally, this is my no name pawn shop Bass guitar, traded for a guitar I used to have. Somebody painted Fender Stratocaster on the headstock! Sha right!! Stratocasters are regular guitars. Good paint job though.

Here is the whole family together. Aren't they beautiful?

Well, it's time to leave you all and get ready for church. Tonight we are watching more movies. We have "Lost In Translation", "21 Grams", and "In The Cut."

Enjoy your weekends.

Tim

Long Time

Hi everybody!
It's been a long time since we've posted. I'm amazed that I've posted twice in a row in about a three week span with nothing from Alanna. Well she is pretty busy with school. Tonight is "Friends" night for her and her friends. They have it here tonight. We had pork chops and broccoli with cheese and garlic cheesy mashed potatoes and biscuits. I can't wait for Sue's Creme Brulee. Oh and the girls are all getting drunk on a new drink Alanna found in the paper: Vanilla Vodka, Pineapple juice, and Cranberry juice (equal parts all 3). It's called "Wedding Cake."
Anyway I'm kinda hanging by myself while they talk and watch TV. Not much alse going on really. How's that for an update?
We did go see Starsky and Hutch this past Friday. It was pretty good. I even liked Snoop Dog as "Huggy Bear". OK I didn't just say I liked a rapper! You didn't read that!
Sue just brought me her homemade Lemon Creme Brulee. Delicious! You see, write about it and it shall come.
Anyway we had a nice weekend after the movie. We hung out with the guys upstairs and ordered pizza on Saturday night. Sunday we had a brunch buffet at the Craftsmen House with Angie, Mandy and her boyfriend T. T and I are thinking about seeing "Hellboy" next week when it opens. I tried winning tickets for the advanced preview tonight, but didn't win. Hopefully Alanna and I will win for "The Girl Next Door" this coming week.
Well I hope you all enjoy life until our next post, a few weeks or so from now. Ha!

Tim's Geek Test

Well I decided to copy Alanna and post my geek test too. This will pass for my web entry this month. Hasta La Vista, Baby! I'll be back!

You are 14% geek
OK, so maybe you ain't a geek. You do, at least, show a bit of interest in the world around you. Either that, or you have enough of a sense of humor to pick some of the sillier answers on the test. Regardless, you're probably a pretty nifty, well-rounded person who gets along fine with people and can chat with just about anyone without fear of looking stupid or foolish or overly concerned with minutiae. God, I hate you.

I got this quiz from a link on Jenn's page. See how 'geek' you are!

Spa day!

Today Mandy and I went to the spa and it was wonderful! We had 1 hour massages, a lavender wrap (which is like being in a warm shower for 20 mins), lunch poolside, we won some dough in the casino playing roulette (I'm not a gambler, but I played $5 and won $40), and a pedicure. This was my first time getting a professional massage and it was great!

This evening, Tim and I went to see a free sneak preview of "Secret Window" and it was pretty good. Gotta love Johnny Depp. Now we're playing some Yahtzee (I'm kicking Tim's butt). Out of 4 games so far I've won all of them! Finally, a game I can beat Tim at. :)

Hope you all are enjoying yourselves this week!

Birthday Fun!

Last night marked the start of Spring break for us and we did that with a birthday party for Sue! It was lots of fun...we had food, pinata fun, and cupcakes! Here are the pictures to prove it. Enjoy!

Tim having fun with the party decorations.

Mandy and T enjoying the festivities.

Angie, Sean and Claire trying to figure out how to hang Sponge Bob.

"Drunk Tim" poppin' a squat along the wall.

Sean sewed Sue a half-bunny, half-kitty for her birthday! She's always said that it would be the cutest animal if it really existed. We were impressed with Sean's sewing abilities.

Joel and Claire inspect Sponge Bob before we begin.

Claire takes a swing at the pinata.

Sue gets a little crazy with Sponge Bob's legs!

Claire and Adam take a peek inside Sponge Bob to see the good stuff that's just waiting to come out!

What is Angie doing with that bat?!

Tom, Sean and Sue diving for candy!

The birthday girl says, "I love candy!"

Stephanie makes sure we get all the candy out of Sponge Bob.

Sean takes out some agression on poor Sponge Bob.

Mandy looks tuckered out from all the fun!

Tim has a tough time dealing with Sponge Bob's demise.

Look at Angie with all her loot.

The birthday cupcakes I made for Sue.
